March 2003:

The Official Publication of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association Mark Wheland’s “Leonard Reedy” rifle of the Wommelsdorf/Reading school was the first prize in the NMLRA’s Gunmakers Hall Giveaway, on September 20, 2003. It was displayed on the cover of this issue of Muzzle Blasts, along with miscellaneous accoutrements.

July/August, 2006

The magazine featured a tribute to the Contemporary Longrifle Association’s 10th Anniversary with a photo spread and an article, which included photos and a description of Mark Wheland’s contribution to the 2006 CLA Auction.

August 2006 :

The cover and an extensive article in this issue of Muzzle Blasts Magazine also paid tribute to the CLA, and featured photos and descriptions of the many items offered for auction, including Mark Wheland’s Christian’s Springs rifle and a selection of accouterments.

Autumn 2005:

The Westsylvania Magazine included an article and photographs of three West Pennsylvania gunsmiths, including Mark Wheland, who are working in the honored tradition of First Frontier gun makers.

August  19, 2006:

The 2006 CLA Auction Catalogue cover photo, and the beautiful interior photo spreads below, include Mark Wheland’s winner of Best In Show at Dixon’s 2005 Gunmakers Fair, a Christian’s Spring rifle, and accoutrements by Frank Willis, and Art DeCamp with Roland Cadle, all of which were donated to the CLA.
